Women's Wellbeing

People come to see a counsellor for many reasons - some people come to learn more about themselves, others for help with symptoms relating to their mental health and others for support in navigating a life event or transition... whatever your is reason for seeking counselling, I am here to support you with both compassion and understanding.

I support women through difficult life events, life stages / transitions and with various emotional challenges. I understand what it is like to go through a big life event or change or to be feeling low, anxious or lost - and just how overwhelming this can feel when juggling various roles and responsibilities. I help women to explore the issues they are facing, to develop greater self- understanding and move forward with both clarity and confidence.

I help women in many different areas including:

  • Anxiety / overwhelm

  • Low mood / low self- esteem

  • Motherhood - the postnatal period and early years

  • Peri/menopause

  • Difficult Life stages / facing a crossroads

  • Workplace stress, career challenges and the juggle with family life

  • Family issues

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Difficult life events (past and present)

  • Identity shifts / feeling lost or not knowing who you are anymore

  • Loneliness

  • Childhood experiences

  • Overthinking / internalising things

Our work together may include:

 - Gaining clarity around what is going on for you

 - untangling complex thoughts and feelings

 - reflecting on what is going on for you, but also on the things that may lie underneath your experiences

 - Exploring how you can connect with your own needs, rather than just meeting the expectations of others

 - Finding new perspectives / gaining new insights

 - developing greater self-awareness

 - building self- confidence / feeling more empowered to make changes

We will discuss your hopes for counselling from the outset and agree an approach that is tailored towards your needs.

I have worked at a Brighton-based women's counselling charity for a number of years, supporting women's mental health during their most challenging life transitions, including  grief, becoming a mum or birthing parent, peri-menopause and menopause.

Before becoming a therapist, I also worked in the legal profession (in a high pressure and corporate environment) for over a decade.  This means that I understand workplace stress, career changes and challenges and the pressures of balancing multiple roles.

I am passionate about the issues that affect women and I would be pleased to support you.

Please note that I offer counselling for adults only (18+).

I am committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all. This means that whilst the primary focus of my practice is working with women/mums/birthing parents, if you would like to connect with me, I will always be pleased to hear from you.

We can have a brief, informal chat — online or by phone — to explore whether working together feels like the right fit for you. This isn’t a therapy session, just a relaxed opportunity to ask any questions and to get a feel for how I work.

There is no obligation to book any sessions afterwards.
